Gearing Up

The Festival Republic runs the Reading Music Festival which is an annual event. The events take place on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holidays and the Reading Festival 2009 will take place on August 28, 29 and 30. The Reading Festival will have rock, punk, metal, indie, and alternative groups, with the best in the business putting up their signature performances. The origin of the Reading Festival is the National Jazz Festival. It was first held in 1961 at the Richmond Athletic Ground and then the venue kept changing till Reading was finally settled upon permanently in 1971. The Reading Festival Tickets are in great demand and are sold out within hours. In 2007 they were sold out within two hours but many got cancelled as the card suppliers refused payment due to lack of funds in the accounts of the buyers. The Reading Festival 2009 tickets will be sold from March 3 and there will be no sale of tickets at the festival venue.
